Presenting new images to the world
New Media & Image include drawn, stop-motion, and other forms of animation; VFX/XR content that uses digital image creation technologies and images that utilize post-broadcast perspectives; digital art and entertainment as well as commercial images like advertisements for variety of media channels; interactive image installations and other forms of media art; digital archives; media image cultural research, and much more. The new media and image major challenges students to tap into new forms of expression that break through conventions in a media and image field that will only continue to diversify.
Curriculum
A comprehensive foundation and expert techniques drive freer, richer, expression
Our unique curriculum goes beyond the traditional boundaries of art, flexibly extending across different fields and areas. Students learn the basic modeling and fabrication skills they need to be media image specialists, deciding on an area of research specialization while learning the various forms of expression involved in media images. Faculty members identify the strengths of each student so that they can lead them to do their own creation and research.
